Usually the optimal rpm for shifting is at or almost at redline; especially for unmodified and non turbo cars.
They keep max horsepower until redline so you really shouldn't need to shift early (modified and turbo cars have a different power curve).
You want to maximize horsepower for any given moment during acceleration! Some people tell you to shift at the peak horsepower point (8250 with the Huracan), but this doesn't work out.
Shift only when you get more horsepower in the next gear, than the current gear!
I'll give the nod to the higher rpm 2016 model.

Then go buy one and quit taking about giving it the Nod or trade your 15, if you actually have a 15 Huracan. The only thing is, when that 16 is running on half the cylinders(BS for a Lambo) and the computer has to Turn On the rest,no matter what they say, this will take time ,the 15 will be long gone...

Good point and keen observation on 15Huracan1. Rubuntu, do you have an H? Or, this is simply a theory field for you?

A friend of mine works at head Audi UK and he confirmed to be the engine does rev further to 8700 although max HP is achieved around 8250 RPM (which now matches the new Audi R8 V10 Plus)

    It's all good; 16' for me!! ....
BTW, When the ANIMA is in Sport or Corsa mode ===> Cylinder deactivation is voided; No computer involved. More rpms in the max-power range. Ready to pounce!!
Strada mode (cylinder deactivation) is for gas mileage purposes only; who drives in Stada mode? Not me.
    Don't Hate.... Congratulate !!

    Thanks for clearing it up.
Like I stated: You want to maximize horsepower for any given moment during acceleration!
    8700 is better than 8250!

Congratulations to all that owns a Lamborghini Huracan in real life ,no matter what the year.Rubuntu, when you actually own any year Huracan let us know ,then you to will get the Nod for the Congratulations for owning one ,not for your theory on what 200 more RPMs on the dash feels like in the 16 car. That is of course, you may never even have driven any year Huracan.

Richardw331 Thanks for the info ,that clears it up,200 more RPMs and and no more power after 8250 RPMs.

But ... a much longer band of full power.
    Thank you very much.
    P.S. Get a calculator my boy, it's 450 rpm.

This is a little puzzling as to why their is such a fierce debating about maximum RPM. Based upon the information regarding engine power (no one had addressed torque). You could have 10,000 RPM max and not gain anything if the engine is not conditioned to be there. Most likely this raise is to maintain their factor of safety and TCU communication strategy which has been in place since the V10 platform on either the Audi or Lamborghini started, less so on Lamborghini. While I am lead calibration engineer for another Italian company (take a big guess as to which) the theory holds the same. If anyone wants a long technically boring further response feel free to let me know and I can probably spend the next 30 min on it. Having been tuning the Huracan the last 5 months I can tell you it's a very simple move and without calibration change the 8700 doesn't make your life any better
