I probably should have started with this! Allow me to share our thinking when it comes to skid plates mounting, hopefully this helps you make an informed decision.

The mounting styles for skid plates are heavily debated. Many schools of thought. Some don't want to drill holes, some don't want to use adhesive. Both reasonable...

One thing everyone thinking of adding skid plates can agree on is their purpose. To protect your investment and give you peace of mind.

The truth is, it's not if you're gonna scrape, its when. As careful as you may be, whether you have the lift or not. It's only a matter of time. Maybe it you behind the wheel, maybe it's a spouse or friend, or maybe it's a valet. It's inevitable.

Once you have that first scrape theres no rewinding the clock.

We can all agree that the least invasive the instillation the better. But we must consider the alternative.

    WHY USE MOUNTING HARDWARE?
Whether it's nuts and bolts or rivets, the hardware allows you to pull the Skidplates tight to the bumper for a clean fitment, giving you a instant and exact placement.

It's worth noting that should you ever want to replace your skid plates a new set would mount in the original mounting holes.

    WHY USE SILICONE?
The truth is, skid plates take a lot of abuse. Skid Plates are constantly sandwiched between the bumper and the road, both pulling in opposite direction. By adding silicone you spread the load from any one mounting location.

The combination of mounting hardware and silicone is sure to provide a secure mount giving you peace of mind and the ultimate driving experience.

The reason we suggest silicone is unlike polyurethane or other adhesive its flexible and removable. A piece of fishing line makes quick work of cutting through the silicone, separating the skid plate from the bumper. It does take some elbow grease but with some time you can remove it if desired.

    Thanks for the detail SoundAutomotiveGroup!

How come your kit does not include a piece for the splitter, I know it is raised, but are you sure it will not require protection too? I think some other kits do have a piece for the center splitter...

I doubt there's a need for it, nor do any Huracan kits come with a 3rd piece.

I've yet to see a huracan with damage under the center splitter. By nature it's raised preventing scraping. Short of driving straight into the gas pump island at a gas station I can't imagine any situation in which you'd scrape under the factory center splitter. Possible on an aftermarket bumper with a lower center or lower carbon fiber valance would a center plate make sense. Famous has impeccable craftsmanship but I'm not familiar with their Huracan kit so I couldn't speak to that.

Well, that is to protect their OWN splitter, NOT the factory one.
