I probably should have started with this! Allow me to share our thinking when it comes to skid plates mounting, hopefully this helps you make an informed decision.

One thing everyone thinking of adding skid plates can agree on is their purpose. To protect your investment and give you peace of mind.

The truth is, it's not if you're gonna scrape, its when. As careful as you may be, whether you have the lift or not. It's only a matter of time. Maybe it you behind the wheel, maybe it's a spouse or friend, or maybe it's a valet. It's inevitable.

We can all agree that the least invasive the instillation the better. But we must consider the alternative.

WHY USE MOUNTING HARDWARE?
Whether it's nuts and bolts or rivets, the hardware allows you to pull the Skidplates tight to the bumper for a clean fitment, giving you a instant and exact placement.

The truth is, skid plates take a lot of abuse. Skid Plates are constantly sandwiched between the bumper and the road, both pulling in opposite direction. By adding silicone you spread the load from any one mounting location.

The reason we suggest silicone is unlike polyurethane or other adhesive its flexible and removable. A piece of fishing line makes quick work of cutting through the silicone, separating the skid plate from the bumper. It does take some elbow grease but with some time you can remove it if desired.
