On mine with the heavy damages they had to remove the wheel and the tire as turnign was necessary. The rear had a only a larger scuff. Removing the wheel was necessary as well but not the tire.

I drove on a windy road into the evening sun with about 100km/h and in a wide left turn a motorcycle comming ahead moved to my side. I immediately turned the wheel a little to the right but that was enough to hit a 50m long curb. There was enough room to the motorcycle but I saw it very late due to the low sitting sun and it freightend me. It caused a pretty loud bang on both the passenger side wheels. Most because of the front spokes were hitting the curb. The rear also got scratched but repair was "only" $400. Now they look better than new
