    the way I understand is that one should refill engine oil till it reaches above the centre line (the demarcation line) and stop refilling till it reaches the centre line of Range a in the picture.
    I may be wrong, just how I understood it after I briefly read the Manual.

    Castrol Edge Extended Performance Advanced Synthetic Motor Oil SAE5W-30

    Checked mine twice,oil good so far,but only 300 miles on car,but has not been babied,runs great....
    HP Car burn oil,normal...

    The full oil level seems to be anywhere within the Area 'A' ...

    Castrol EDGE Professional LongLife III 5W-30.

    My manual says Castrol SLX Professional Longlife III if I remember correctly, but this has been replaced by the EDGE Professional.


    Castrol EDGE Professional LongLife III 5W-30 is recommended and approved for use in OEM vehicles that require VW
    504 00 / 507 00, Porsche C30 specifications.

    900 miles on mine. Oil level hasn't moved a mm.

    He was asking for the exact oil listed in the manual. I do agree that the above oil is sufficient and will probably work just fine. I was just letting you know that it does not meet the manufacturers specification. Probably because it lacks an additional additive for emissions or something of that nature.

    Below the mfg. oil specifications = More prone to shearing.
