The R101's are lighter, come in smaller sizes, have standard knurled lips, slightly thicker spokes, and save you a bit of cash. The P101's come in the larger sizes, more of a looker with it's thinner spokes, and a better all-around daily driver wheel compared to the track focused R101. You can see the minimal differences in design between the two below:
