Doesn't it just plug into the 12v lighter in the frunk?

no, the pigtails connect directly to the battery and you leave the plug dangling in the compartment

If you purchase the Ctek .... it has an optional cigarette lighter adapter cord. You just plug it into the power port inside the front bonnet. Voila!
McLaren cars have the same set up.

That won't work. The power port is only live when the ignition is on. So you can't charge the battery unless you leave the ignition on..... totally useless.

You need to connect directly to the battery.

Sadly it's not the same on the Huracan.

    Thanks, Sal and cactus:
I did not know that the port is only live when the ignition is on!
Very strange, because ... Does one have to have the ignition on in order for the (adjacent) trunk light to work?
I don't think I've seen that with any other cars I've had. (With no keys, usually the trunk light still goes on when you open the trunk!)
That is a stupid set up.
I've installed the battery pig-tails myself on various cars that did not come with a power port inside the trunk.... So, it is not really a big deal.

Light comes on when frunk is open, but times out after a while (5-10 minutes).
