Only way to disconnect the battery is by removing the frunk lining?
Looking to disconnect the negative terminal, with the battery cover open there is not enought room to get a wrench in.
Is the only way to do it by removing the whole frunk lining?

Yes.
Unfortunately the L cars don't have a battery switch like F cars.

You can remove the positive terminal instead, there is much more room on that side
