1) Choose one with the liftting system and you should not need a skid plate. There is a plastic lip underneath the front that can touch the road sometimes. On mine it did once in a while but I did not scratch the bumper.

2) can't answer as in Europe we have dealer warranty but also some aftermarket companies offered by non-Lambo dealers.
