And this is the #1 reason I have a Frequency Intelligent Exhaust. I can open/close the valves with my remote IN ANY DRIVING MODE. It's loudest in Sport or Corsa with valves open, but I can shut them there too and it's reasonably well behaved. In Strada with valves closed, it's nice and quiet.
