First time washing this car, how do you wash the transparent engine bay?

Wouldn't all the soap drip into the engine bay?

I put a large towel over the engine to prevent soap and water from getting in. I do the same on the Aventador too. It make detailing the engine way so much better. I hate what happens otherwise.

I just use the low pressure rain mode and point the water from the front to the back

No big deal.Remember a lot of rain gets in their, everything is sealed...I just pop the hatch and blow it off with my yard blower after the wash.

It's not really a big deal - you can wash it like any other part of the car. I'll wash the top surface of the transparent cover first with automotive shampoo through a pressure washer, then open it fully, pressure wash the undersurface with shampoo, and then spot-free rinse from the highest point of the open cover, downwards. I'll then rinse the entire engine bay with low-pressure spot-free rinse, close the engine cover, and rinse with spot-free (I use a CR Spotless rig, but you don't have to, if you dry the cover off immediately after, to avoid hard water spots).

You can get shampoo in the engine bay - just rinse the entire bay well, and then rinse with spot-free or blow it out with a leaf blower or similar.

    Finally did my first detail....

Of course it gets dirty. It's exposed to the elements as much as any other part of the car!

Don't you ever have to wash the windows on your car?

Of course, a pane of glass is easy to clean. The engine bay is well sealed. No need to run water down it.

Seems like you could just spritz some glass cleaner on it and wipe it down. Probably no need to fully soak it with soap water and hose.
