I love improvements! This will bode well for the standard version of the LP610-4 to get a horsepower upgrade in the 2017MY.
Lamborghini did the same thing back in 2005 when they introduced the SE version of the Gallardo; the next year all Gallardos had that power increase (20hp).

I wonder if any of this is software only and we can get some of the benefits.

Of course it is.
In fact, sometimes I wonder if they actually do anything at all; who can notice a 10 or 20 hp difference between one car to another?
Seeing how VW/Audi is the biggest cheater in the car business who can believe anything they say now!
