the SLR production goal was 2500, but they never made it, no official numbers have ever been given by McLaren but best guess 2000 max cars produced, less than 800 total imported to US, prices are falling over last 5 years, before roadster version never under 350k, now several well under 250k, saw a coupe with 30,000 miles sold for 165000k
Pretty much the same deal in Europe, nothing spectacular.
The SLS has something from the original 300SL and if you look at the new gts you kind of understand why prices started to go up.

The thing is with these cars is the lower the miles the more the price is affected. one with 2k miles versus one with 5k could be nearly a 50k dollar difference
