Which Paint Protection Film?? 3M?? Need to know soon

    Hey everyone,

My dealer is coming to get my new H tomorrow in a enclosed trailer to fix a fault error code it has & such & I figured while it was there I should have them have parts wrapped in the protection film to protect the paint from chips & such as it has none yet. The thing is they said their company they use uses 3m material. I thought Xpel was the best to get no? Do they mean the old clear bras you can see that are super thick & such? I don't want that at all LOL.

I want something you can't tell is there really much & it works great. What did you all go with? Which material? Also I was thinking of getting the hood, fenders, mirrors & front bumper / lip all wrapped is that enough or should the doors be done as well? What all did you wrap?

If you can let me know soon I need to tell them yes on the 3m or no & find another installer that uses whatever material you all suggest soon.

I did xpel and I did the nose (bumper, hood, fenders and mirror), Complete rockers and then I had them do the hips like all of my porsches. Looks fantastic and can't even see it.

As another data point....I had my Porsch 996 track car repainted on all panels and the except the roof and hood so I had XPel put on the new paint however I kept the 3M on the hood. Holy cow...what a difference. The 3M is orange peely and and makes it look like fim is on. The XPEL looks like clearcoat. Its beautiful. I am sold on XPEL.

XPel Ultimate is amazing. It was actually BETTER than the OEM paint on my M3, in terms of lack of orange peel! I love the self-healing properties, which actually do as advertised.

I have heard great things about Suntek, but for me, I will request XPel Ultimate when spring finally comes and I can get my car to my clearbra installer!

Hey thanks for the input & yeah I found a nice local installer & am also going to go with the XPEL ultimate as you all recommended too. I hope to have it back from the dealer next week & as soon as I get it back im going to take it to the clear installer to have it done while the paint is still pristine.
