    K40 Worth It?

    K40 Worth It?
Shop hit me up on getting one. At $2300 I said it would take like 10 tickets to pay for it...

I get a ticket every 3 years. That's 30 years to get my ROI LOL. Am I missing something?

    No, you are not...
All these radar detectors have become way too expensive in my opinion. Probably for a car that you drive intensively it may worth but on a car like a Huracan its definately not worth it!

I respectfully beg to differ. Radar is now MANDATORY for all my cars, I even take a 9500ix when I travel. For the rest of my cars it's only the 9500ci, which I find to be better than the K40. I have had 6 so far, and each had paid for themselves. We have laser in IL too so shifting is also nice to have and saved my ass on many occasions, even in CA. I even add the radar mirror now, yes they are a bit pricey but I could honestly say they pay for themselves even in the 2K range. Maybe I drive a bit more "spiritedly" than average...but I wouldn't own a car without nowadays

So I was quoted $3200 for K40 or 9500 my choice. Is that a crazy price installed?

Yes, over by a grand. Is that from the dealer? I have had 6 or 7 9500ci's installed. $2500 is top end WITH radar mirror....without is closer to 2k.
