    2015 Lamborghini Aventador SV

    2015 Lamborghini Aventador SV

"To send off the Lamborghini Murcielago in style, the Italian firm released the LP 670-4 SV (Super Veloce). With less weight, updated styling and aerodynamics as well as more power, the Murcielago SV was the most potent variant offered of Lamborghini’s form halo supercar. Because the Murcielago SV was created towards the end of the car’s production run, it would make sense if Lamborghini did the same with the Aventador and revealed an SV-spec variant towards the end of its life cycle.

However, the latest suggestions report that that isn’t in fact the case with word leaking that the Lamborghini Aventador SV will be released in the coming months. The word comes courtesy of Team Salamone from the Gumball 3000 who claim to be receiving the very first one.

Because this is obviously far from official confirmation from Lamborghini itself, we’re a bit sceptical. Nevertheless, if an Aventador SV is released soon, it’ll mean that in the coming years Lamborghini will be forced to produce even faster and more powerful versions of the Aventador which certainly can’t be a bad thing!

If an Aventador SV is indeed just around the corner, we can expect it to weigh less than the standard model while also receiving updated styling and some modest performance upgrades."

From past cars. The more collectible ones are always the ones with the more power. So SV will for sure be more collectible. I really want one of these but it seems that most lambo models even the rare ones they drop a considerable amount

Some say the SV won't be limited, not even numbered, so if that turns correct, the 50th anniversary will be definitely more valuable and rare, specially with all the attention it has got. Some say it's the most exciting lambo since the Murcielago SV

I actually doubt it. The Aventador is not even 5 years old

    So, some facts:
    - SV production begins this year, November
    - It will be single clutch, unknown power increase or weight decrease at this point
    - It will be limited
    - As soon as it's done, the Aventador is getting a mid-life facelift. This facelift will include a dual clutch gearbox

So, The SV name now would seem no longer to signal the end of an era, the last technological hurrah. It would seem to be Lamborghini's half-assed attempt to clear out old technology and elongating the model life and use it rather as an interim "sportier, harder edged" model. This is all information from the factory, and it makes sense - they want us to clear out Pirelli Edition models to then concentrate on the SV which we have 4 allocated for November production. Prior to that, they were very cautious of revealing too much as they wanted more customers to purchase the standard model, obviously in light of waning interest in the car.

It would seem it's a decision now to sacrifice the "legend" of the SV name, it is no longer that ultra-exclusive car, it is merely the Superleggera, the "Turbo S", which is now available from the get go. When we questioned the factory, the hell are you doing, you're improving the car AFTER the SV?? They replied with, maybe we'll do a dual clutch SV too, hasn't been decided.

    And a V6 Urus. Argh.
