Huracan AWD and OEM Rolling Diameter

Hi Folks,

We were discussing this on an FB group for Huracan owners about tire replacements etc.

So usually you would try to match the front and rear circumferences to match as close as possible or somehow measure actual rolling diameter.

So based on simple circumference for OEM front 245/30/20 and rear 305/30/20 it comes to:

Front: 81"
Rear: 85.4"

Around 5% difference. That seems excessive?
Why not use a different front aspect ratio or larger front width?

If this is fine or if the AWD can somehow manage this difference, when replacing with aftermarket wheels, should we match the 5% difference. Even dynamic AWD systems usually want similar circumferences.

The general rule of thumb is that you stay within +/- 3% of the OEM wheel & tire rolling diameter when installing aftermarket wheels & tires. This means that your front aftermarket wheel & tire should be within 3% +/- difference from what the front OEM wheel & tires is. Then the rear aftermarket wheel and tire should be within 3% +/i of the rear OEM wheel & tire.

The front rolling diameter has nothing to do with the rear rolling diameter and there's no need to compare the difference between the two.

For you and your buddies that are looking into aftermarket wheels I'd be glad to help you out and set you up with what's needed.

It is my understanding that it does matter and Lamborghini has given Huracan owners issues related to warranty claims when looking at aftermarket tires.
